Sydney's George Street strip has cemented its status as the tech hub of the city as tier-one brands set up shop in preparation for the completion of the light rail and rejuvenation of the street.

The main activity is between King and Market streets where Optus and Vodafone have signed leases in the Fife Capital's 383 George Street development. They join Apple, Telstra and Samsung along the strip. The shops are an average 250 square metres at what agents call "solid rents". The average rent along the prime strip can run between $5000 to $7000 per sq m per annum.
