Industrial developer and investor Logos bought a south Sydney warehouse industrial site, paying $72.4 million for the Banksmeadow property.

The 4.4 hectare site at 2-6 Moore Street was sold by a syndicate of 22 private owners, who paid $26.2 million in 2008, in a an off-market sale brokered by Colliers International's Michael Crombie and Gavin Bishop.

It is leased to global packaging company Orora, which houses its carton business at the property.

Last week Logos launched a $500 fund - Logos Australian Logistics Portfolio - to acquire logistics facilities in the local market, on the basis that the logistics market will maintain solid returns.

The group, which has expanded into Asia, currently has $4 billion of equity commitments to 14 ventures in five regions, and is targeting assets under management of more than $9 billion.
