Perth, 15 May 2017 – Supermarket giant Aldi has appointed CBRE to steer the sale of an almost 3,000sqm site adjoining its newest store in Bunbury.

Located at 9 Edward Street, the 2,810sqm property is suited to accommodate a commercial development, with potential uses including medical, childcare, retail and food and beverage.

The property forms part of the larger 10,373sqm site purchased by Aldi in 2016, with this portion identified as surplus to the retailer’s needs.

Due to open mid-July this year, the new Bunbury Aldi has reached approximately 70% completion and will comprise a 1,550sqm footprint with more than 95 car bays.

The Bunbury outlet will be the 26th Aldi Supermarket in Western Australia, and the furthermost southern store in the state.

CBRE’s Ben Younger and Kate Foley have been appointed to market the property on behalf of Aldi via an Offers Invited campaign.

Mr Younger said the property’s prominent position adjoining the new Aldi supermarket would underpin strong buyer interest.

“This property is ideally positioned to benefit from the highly anticipated opening of Bunbury’s first Aldi supermarket, with potential extending to a wide range of retail and commercial uses,” Mr Younger said.

Ms Foley added: “With dual street frontage and a central city location in Bunbury – the commercial centre of WA’s south-west region – we expect there to be strong interest from developers and occupiers.”

The property is being offered for sale via an Offers Invited campaign.
