Galileo has appointed Ganellen as the construction company for its $320+m residential development, King & Phillip. Demolition on the site is now approaching completion with construction to begin shortly.

Since its inception in 1998, the privately-owned Sydney construction company has delivered over $2b of construction work including 100 residential, commercial, hotel, education and infrastructure projects.

Current and recent projects include:

  • Newmarket Randwick
  • Primus Heritage 5 Star Hotel (Sydney CBD)
  • Harbord Diggers Re-Development (Freshwater)
  • Kiaora Lane Retail Precinct (Double Bay)
  • Novartis Pharmaceutical Headquarters (Macquarie Park)
  • The Beach House (Bondi Beach)
  • Antias Apartments (Jacksons Landing precinct, Pyrmont).

“We made the choice to appoint Ganellen after a comprehensive selection and tender process,“ says Galileo Managing Director, Neil Werrett.

“We wanted a builder with a demonstrated strong capability in safe delivery of premium-grade, highrise residential towers on time and on budget,” he adds. “Ganellen bring enormous experience to this project and we look forward to working with them to make King & Phillip a reality.”

Peter Maneas, CEO, Ganellen added, “King and Phillip is one of those special timeless buildings that come up very rarely in your lifetime, a taste of Manhattan with all the trimmings. We look forward to delivering this iconic building in our 20th year of business.”

Located in one of Sydney’s most significant heritage precincts bounded by St James Anglican Church, the Supreme Court of NSW, Hyde Park Barracks and St Mary’s Cathedral, King & Phillip’s 92-metre high building includes 26 floors, 23 dedicated to 104 luxurious residences.

Designed by the award-winning architects FJMT, the new Sydney CBD icon will offer both the elegance and excitement of living in the heart of one of the world’s greatest cities and a warm,
sophisticated retreat from the hectic pace of contemporary life.

Justin Brown, Chairman of CBRE Residential said, “ King & Phillip is an iconic development within a very special CBD precinct. The product has been well received, with in excess of 80% of the apartments being sold. 2018 has seen a resurgence of interest from purchasers for the CBD and this market continues to be undersupplied”.

Galileo Group is developing King and Phillip in joint venture with Hostplus.
