The InterContinental Hotel Group is expanding its footprint with a new Holiday Inn planned in Sydney's Chinatown.

The Chinese Linzhu group owns the site at 430 Pitt Street and will develop the 17-storey site, said to be worth about $61 million, complete with a sloping roof and "green waterfalls", with a 2020 scheduled opening.
