Australia’s iconic commercial tower, 101 Collins Street, managed by AXA Investment Managers – Real Assets, on behalf of its clients, has announced that construction will shortly commence on an on-site, full service holistic wellness centre - the next stage of its ambitious plan to deliver a world class health and wellness offering for its premium tenants.

The generous space will provide two studios complete with sprung floors and heated ceiling panels, equipped for a range of activities including yoga, pilates, barre, meditation, HIIT and a range of cardio-based classes. The studios will be located alongside three specialist consultation rooms offering services such as physiotherapy, osteo therapy, chiropractic’s and remedial massage.

Unparalleled in terms of size and scale in Melbourne’s office market, the luxury wellness centre will be for the exclusive use of 101 Collins Street tenants. Designed by Australian architects Gray Puksand, construction of the facility is slated to commence in April, with completion expected in October 2019.

The announcement follows the completion of its world class end-of-trip facility, ONE, which features a resort-style spa and hotel experience for tenants and is widely regarded as an Australian benchmark.

The wellness centre is the second phase of a comprehensive strategic asset plan, which will result in one level of parking being relocated to house the the End-of-Trip and Wellness amenities.

Brett Dillon, Head of Funds Management at AXA IM-Real Assets, said once delivered the redevelopment would signify the completion of the asset’s luxury wellness offering, and hinted at other projects.

“For almost three decades, 101 Collins Street has held the position as Melbourne’s pre-eminent office address, but we can’t afford to be complacent.  Our team is focused on responding to evolving tenant needs, new trends in technology and innovation, so our projects will continue to set new benchmarks in the premium space market.”

“Wellness offerings are an essential element of today’s modern workplace, so we are excited to announce that construction will shortly commence on this industry-leading amenity at 101 Collins Street,” he said.

High-profile tenants such as Herbert Smith Freehills, Allens Linklaters, Goldman Sachs, and J.P Morgan are just some of the names that occupy the building’s 57 storeys of expansive commercial space, surrounded by premium retailers and eateries such as Van Cleef & Arpels, Cartier, Harrolds, and Il Solito Posto.
