Sydney and Melbourne's housing markets remain "fundamentally" undersuppplied and new policies aimed at deterring foreign buyers are so far only having a minimal impact, says developer Mirvac.

In the wake of warnings about a looming crunch particularly in the apartment market, Susan Lloyd-Hurwitz, group chief executive at Mirvac which is one of the largest residential developers in the country, said the continued growth in its residential business was well supported by a "high quality pipeline".
