Visionary spearheads revitalisation of Pagewood with S Pagewood by Silkari

Leading property developer, Visionary, is spearheading the revitalisation of Pagewood with the development of its $260 million residential project, S Pagewood by Silkari, located at 32 Page Street.

Pagewood: the ‘Affordable East’ primed for further growth and urbanisation

Located only eight kilometres south of the Sydney CBD, Pagewood is at the beginning of a transformation leaving behind its industrial past, where large warehouses are being converted to residential spaces and becoming more urbanised. 

“In as little as five years from now, Pagewood will look quite different. It will become a lot more urbanised – a lot less industrial, more residential, cafes, restaurants and shopping and just as many parks and beautiful surrounding golf courses,” Mr Song said.

“While Pagewood is not a beachfront suburb, it’s only 10 minutes to both Maroubra Beach and South Coogee – and I don’t think people really appreciate what doors that opens from a lifestyle perspective. It’s close enough to get a dip or a surf in before or after work in summer, which is just an absolutely great way to start or finish a day”.

“It offers a prime location for those looking for all of the lifestyle benefits of living near the beach in a quieter, more family-orientated location that is still within easy access to the CBD and airport, without the inner-city or beachside price point” said Mr Song.

With the median house in Pagewood currently priced at $1,725,000 (according to compared to Randwick – with a median house price of $2,470,000, Kensington ($2,987,000) and Kingsford ($2,130,000) - Pagewood has come to represent an attainable enclave dubbed the ‘affordable east’.

In terms of growth, the suburb has seen an impressive price uplift, recording 47% growth in the median price of houses in the past five years, while apartments have grown at a similar rate at 50.6%.

“We’re in a niche of Pagewood that’s nestled between great open space in Mutch Park and the Bonnie Doon Golf Course. Within that neighbourhood are mainly long-established free-standing homes,” Mr Song said. “The suburb is primarily zoned for low density housing, so there is little chance of over-development like we’ve seen in Botany and Alexandria”.

Pagewood Primary School sits - literally - on the doorstep of S Pagewood by Silkari and of more than 40 primary schools in Sydney’s south eastern suburbs, it is the highest rated for academic performance. Beyond that, Pagewood is within easy reach of a number of top-rated independent and state high schools. It also offers both excellent road and public transport access to one of Australia’s top-ranked universities, UNSW. 

“Pagewood is very much part of Sydney’s thriving eastern suburbs,” says Mr Song, “it is not only within easy reach of established amenities, it is on the doorstep of ongoing growth in its immediate surrounds.”
