Three new or overhauled shopping centres are scheduled to open in Queensland, New South Wales and Western Australia, backed by Australia's biggest landlords.

Westfield’s first “greenfield” development in more than a decade is set to open at the northern Gold Coast suburb of Coomera before Christmas.

The $470 development will include major supermarkets and departments stores along with 140 specialty stores.

This weeks saw the opening of the $350 million Mandurah Forum in Western Australia. Backed by Vicinity, the centre is more than 64,000 square metres, and anchored by David Jones, H & M, Mecca Maxima and Big W.

In NSW, Stockland opened its Green Hills shopping centre in East Maitland.
The $414 million centre includes 220 retailers plus a 1200-seat dining precinct.
