Flammable building cladding will have to be removed, VBA says

All buildings that have used flammable cladding will need to have it removed, an operation likely to cost billions of dollars, the head of the Victorian Building Authority says.

VBA acting chief executive Murray Smith said the authority was looking at options to "accelerate" the removal of polyethylene wall cladding, the cause of a substantial blaze on Melbourne's Lacrosse apartment and London's lethal Grenfell Tower fire.
