After 40 years as a popular music venue, the Trocadero in Newtown has a new owner, CanTeen, the not-for-profit group supporting young people impacted by cancer, which paid $13 million for the site, which also includes the Académie De Musique.

The Trocadero was previously owned by Moore Theological College, which had held the title of the property since the mid 1980s. CanTeen has been the anchor tenant since February 2014, occupying the vast majority of the building.
