It is true what they say about talent being hereditary. There is a photo on the R&Y Augousti homepage of Ria and Yiouri's daughter Kifu as a tiny toddler, staying out the front of their Paris store. It is a picture that, decades on, must make the Augousti family smile - a premonition of the design dynasty that was to follow. For in the years since, the extraordinarily talented Augousti family have built their small Parisian furniture and homewares business into an international success. Ria and Yiouri continue their eponymous brand "Ë?R&Y Augousti', whilst their daughter Kifu has launched her own design collection, "Ë?Kifu Paris'. [caption id="attachment_4136" align="alignnone" width="500"](Image via: http://www.augousti.com/) (Image via: http://www.augousti.com/)[/caption]   Their story begun many years ago when Ria and Yiouri met in London. Through their shared loved of art and design, the young couple fell in love and were married. As newlyweds, Ria and Yiouri dreamt of one day creating their own collection of furniture and home accessories in the art deco style they both loved and adored. Each item is crafted with such luxe complexity, you would imagine it was discovered in a dusty market, somewhere deep in the Orient. Think inset jade patterning, bronze lizard embellishment, jewels, beading, curious copper frames, and exotic skins. Each piece is unique and magical. And it would appear daughter Kifu has inherited the Augousti midas touch. Her collection of glamorous home accessories carries on her parent's love for craftsmanship and sumptuous design. Working with rare materials such as shagreen, snakeskin, lizard, and ostrich, Kifu adds raw and solid finishes with shell, bronze, and wood. Like a designer handbag, their homewares can be pared back with a simple and minimalist interior as a luxe feature; or clashed as a cluster for a more-is-more vibe. Either way, these high-end curios will be your favourite item for many years to come. And, lucky for Sydney-siders, both ranges are now available at Becker Minty Boutique in Potts Point.
