Add another property to the list of assets Mel Gibson is looking to unload: 403 acres of Costa Rican jungle. Mr. Gibson, 61, has recently re-listed his remote slice of Costa Rica's Nicoya Peninsula for $29.75 million"â?the most expensive of several properties the Oscar-winning director and actor has on the market. The Costa Rican estate comes with three villas on a hilltop overlooking the Pacific Ocean and each a short walk to sandy beaches, according to the listing with Robert Davey of Plantacion Properties and Rick Moeser of Christie's International Real Estate. Mr. Gibson tried to sell the tropical spread three years ago for the same price, according to reports at the time. imagereader (1)   The "Braveheart" star and director has been on a real estate bender over the past year. He sold off a Frank Lloyd Wright-esque four-bedroom in the posh Los Angeles neighborhood of Sherman Oaks for $2.1 million earlier this year, as well as a cottage in Agoura Hills for $683,000, according to property records. Mr. Gibson discovered his Costa Rican refuge while looking for sites to film his 2006 adventure film "Apocalypto" and is known to walk around the private jungle with a machete in hand, according to The Los Angeles Times, which first reported the listing. imagereader (3)   The three villas are custom-fitted with wood native to Costa Rica, and Spanish and Italian tiles. Each has vaulted ceilings, pools, barbecues and multiple balconies and verandas that overlook the lush tropical forest, according to the listing. The largest of the three homes, called Casa Guanacaste, has seven bedrooms and eight bathrooms. The two smaller villas have two-bedrooms each. imagereader (4)   An ecological bonus: The nearby beach attracts olive ridley sea turtles that travel thousands of miles to lay their eggs each year. Mr. Gibson has a number of properties on the market besides this tropical oasis. He listed a medieval-inspired manor in Malibu for $17.5 million last month, and has been trying to sell a $26 million mansion in Greenwich, Connecticut, for the past three years. medium_large_imagereader-66 Mr. Gibson could not immediately be reached for comment. A publicist for the actor said he has no knowledge of the director's real estate dealings.   Beckie Strum Originally published in Mansion Global
