Aussie actor Chris Hemsworth and his wife Elsa Pataky recently celebrated his 34th birthday in style, embarking on a luxury getaway at Queensland's Orpheus Island Lodge. The newly appointed Tourism Australia Ambassador shared envy-inducing snaps of their trip to paradise on social media this week. The smitten couple showed off their ripped physiques while posing for snaps at the Great Barrier Reef resort, where rooms can cost upwards of $3,000 per night. In snaps shared to Instagram this week, Hollywood hunk Chris and Spanish actress Elsa were seen enjoying various activities including paddle-boarding, before taking a dip in the lodge's serene infinity pool.

Rooms inside the lodge include state-of-the art facilities and contemporary designs, allowing guests to relax in style.

There is also access to a 5-star restaurant, complete with beachside dining, making for a romantic setting - which Chris and Elsa no doubt enjoyed on the child-free holiday.

To top off the luxury stay, guests at the lodge, which only accommodated 28 people at any given time, can also access a day spa for massages, facials and beauty treatments.

When contacted by Daily Mail Australia on Tuesday, a staff member at Orpheus Island declined to comment on Chris and Elsa's luxury getaway.

He also encouraged fans to visit the holiday destination. '... Thanks @orpheusisland and @australia. If you haven't been then add it to the long list of amazing places to see in Oz, it's a must!' Earlier this year, Chris was announced as a Tourism Australia ambassador and Tourism Australia managing director John O'Sullivan said the Byron Bay-native's coastal upbringing made him the best person for the role. 'From learning how to surf on Phillip Island, fishing with his brothers in the Northern Territory and family beach holidays, Chris has grown up in Australia in and around water,' he said.
