Fashion mega blogger, Tash Sefton from They All Hate Us has long been a Northern Beaches local, that is, until she made the move to Mosman over two years ago. With Mosman being a fashion destination in its own right, and a cafà © and dining scene to match, Tash is in her element as she talks about her new local and the places she loves to shop. Why did you make the move to Mosman? We have lived most of our married life in Manly, but when looking for a new house in the same suburb that fit the criteria of a growing family, we couldn't find one. So, we explored different areas. I never thought I would live in Mosman as the beaches were always a priority. And although not beach front, Mosman is so beautiful and we really love it. We have a stunning garden, as well as outdoor area and just a few short blocks away from Balmoral Beach. So, it's the perfect blend of both space and water. I'm also loving the village and shopping strip " it's super close and easy to get to, and a few designer stores as well for me to get my shopping hit when I'm meant to be buying groceries! tash1 tash2 Mosman's Military Road is widely known as the local fashion hub. Where are you shopping locally to pick up casual, everyday style pieces? There are major retailers like Country Road, Seed and Witchery, all next to boutiques and designer labels like Camilla & Marc (my fav!), Rebecca Vallance and Bassike " it's a really great blend of brands. And instead of heading to the city or a shopping centre, Mosman Village has a lovely feel, so walking it is ideal. Also, lots of yummy places to eat along the way. Where in Mosman can you pick up a special occasion outfit? I love Camilla & Marc " sophisticated cool. Leather and dresses from Rebecca Vallance and designer denim from Curve. Also, can't go past Bassike for designer basics and stylish, casual, everyday wear. tash3 tash4 What keeps you living in Mosman? That I can be anywhere in 15 minutes. Balmoral Beach is stunning and running up Awaba Street is a cardio workout to get swimsuit ready " it's nearly vertical! Your favourite hidden gem in Mosman? The Little French Patisserie, it's so tiny (next to the post office). They have the most perfect baguettes and chocolate eclairs - made the Parisian way. Also, the local fruit shop has fresh market flowers and I can fill my whole house with flowers for $30. Finally, what is the difference between Mosman's culture versus its surrounding suburbs? It's so "Mosman"! I can't explain what I mean! (Hahaha) Maybe it's the odd looks I get when I wear ripped jeans to the shops or that everything is on Mosman time. It's simple but very luxe. Coming from the beaches where everything is very cool, calm and chilled, Mosman is much fancier, even though it's a short drive away. YOUR MOSMAN GUIDE Bordered by the rugged beauty of Sydney Harbour, luxurious Mosman, one of Sydney's most affluent and prestigious suburbs, is defined by its grand historic homes, boutique shopping, fine dining and hidden coves and beaches.
