Former boyband member Harry Styles is now chart-topping solo artist, new Hollywood heartthrob, and quite the budding real-estate mogul. The 23 year old has decided to flip his Los Angeles house that he's only owned for a year and a half.

According to public records, Styles bought the property in January 2016 for close to US$7 million. It is now on the market for US$8.495 million, up nearly US$2 million from its original selling price. Listing agent Justin Huchel of Hilton & Hyland told The Wall Street Journal that the higher asking price is due to renovations that Styles has made to the house and LA's competitive real-estate market.

Huchel also explained that the busy Brit, who's probably just wrapped up promotions for his breakout movie Dunkirk, now spends the bulk of his time in London and New York, where he recently purchased a home. That leaves the star little time to enjoy his Hollywood Hills home.

The three-storey house was built in 1946 and is perched just above the Sunset Strip. It features glass walls, 10ft-high ceilings, and travertine tile floors that expand out to spacious terraces. Views stretching from the skyline of Downtown LA to the Pacific Ocean are best enjoyed from the rooftop deck, off the master bedroom. The room has a floor-to-ceiling sliding slab of glass that leads to the deck.

Approximately 4,100 square feet of interior space also contains an open kitchen and dining area, home theatre and gym.

The property further boasts a palm-tree-lined motorcourt and two-car garage at the rear. While tall hedges block any views from the lagoon-style swimming pool and hot tub, their function seems necessary for privacy.
