Tschiertschen, Switzerland-The legendary Alpina in Tschiertschen, Switzerland, is to reopen its doors in early December after an architecturally stunning upgrading to The Alpina Mountain Resort & Spa. The ambitious project was made possible thanks to an imaginative entrepreneur from Malaysia, Ar. Ah Khing Teo, and also the founder of China Horse Club. Tschiertschen, lying on the west side of the Schanfigg Valley, is back on the tourist map of Graubà ¼nden. In the past two years, the historic structure of the former Alpina Hotel, a jewel of the golden age of Swiss hospitality, has been renovated, and the hotel expanded and upgraded. Even the most demanding guests will lack nothing. The Alpina Mountain Resort & Spa is a vacation hotel with an enchanting ambience in a magical location. The Alpina Mountain Resort & Spa will delight urban guests who want to enjoy themselves with a clear conscience. Keeping its ecological footprint as small as possible, the nearly 120-year-old building has been renovated on the Minergie® standard " a pioneering achievement. The kitchen prepares local organic produce wherever possible. Guests can forget about their car: the hotel allows ski-in/ski-out right from its doorstep. Twenty-eight kilometres of groomed slopes of all levels of difficulty will delight skiers and snowboarders. There's a free-ride slope extending over a thousand metres of altitude. The historic building offers 20 double rooms, and seven spacious family and junior suites on the attic floor. The two restaurants (Panorama, La Belle à â?°poque) and the Alpina Bar and Tropaios Lounge will take guests back to the bygone era of Art Nouveau. For relaxation, a spa has been created in the new additions. The spa provides a Finnish sauna, herbal steam bath, bio sauna, infrared cabin, Kneipp zone, Via Mala storm path, outdoor whirlpool, relaxation room with juice bar, and two massage rooms. The offer is completed by the wine-tasting cellar, the modest and airy seminar area, the spacious open lobby, and the sun terrace with magnificent views over the Alpine ranges of the Schanfigg Valley. The bucolic mountain village of Tschiertschen " on a line between Arosa and Lenzerheide " has regained its appeal for tourists. In the spring of 2014 the Malaysian entrepreneur Ah Khing Teo had already shown how he had lost his heart to this wonderfully intact Walser village by opening Hotel Gà ¼rgaletsch. His saying "simply magical!" became the guideline for The Alpina Mountain Resort & Spa. The highly experienced hoteliers Michael and Marlies Gehring will be hosts of the new resort. In 2013 they received the highest award of the gastronomic scene of Austria as "Ë?Hosts of Taste of the Year'. In the previous year they had received the accolade "Ë?Toque d'Or' for special culinary merit. Guests of the Alpina Mountain Resort & Spa will come with high expectations.
